Iced Poles

We were twins, You and I
Parted at birth,
And frozen in our separate lives.

The ice thaws now, a little
And a hand breaks free,
Or there a foot

And an eye blinks, and sees for the first time
True colours.

But the gaze is distorted through the pale opalescence

And your ice hasn't yet melted
